Children and Dog Washing

While it’s great to teach young children about the benefits of caring for their beloved pets, parents should be aware of a few things while at AquaDog Spa.

Bathing can be stressful for some dogs, and all dogs are very sensitive to their owners’ energy and moods. If your children are calm, quiet and assertive, the dog will be much calmer and happier during bathing and drying. Conversely, if children are fighting loudly over who gets to wash Fido, who gets to rinse him, and who gets to brush him, it will make your dog (as well as other dogs in the spa) much more stressed out.

Also, when dogs are wet, they will shake themselves frequently to rid the excess water on their coats; please try to keep your children from screaming whenever your dog does this; we provide waterproof aprons to keep you and your children as dry as possible!

Lastly, when customers are finished bathing their dogs, the floor can sometimes become slippery, please caution your children to stay within your wash station, or seated on the benches provided.
